Sultry Winter Scents: Tom Ford’s Black Orchid

IMG_8833[1]

I’ve never reviewed a perfume before, but when it comes to Tom Ford, I simply couldn’t resist.

Lets just say, Black Orchid hasn’t got it’s Best Seller reputation for nothing. I can safely say that this is my favourite perfume to date. It is quite a dramatic smelling fragrance so one or two small spritz goes a long long way, and much to my delight, it lasts all day. It is rich, spicy and warming, making it the perfect scent for those cold Winter nights. It smells totally unique, which is a refreshing change from the copious sweet smelling floral fragrances on the market, that after a few hours of wear smell suspiciously like any other.

The bottle is also beautiful. The shape, the black lines and gold detailing reminds me of Gatsby-esque vibes of 1920s Art Deco.

Tom Ford describes it as:

A Luxurious and sensual fragrance of rich, dark accords and an alluring potion of black orchids, and spice, Tom Ford’s Black Orchid is both modern and timeless. Bottled in fluted, black-glass, Black Orchid makes an unforgettable statement of iconic style and wordly glamour.

I couldn’t have put it better myself.

At £75 for 50ml, it is definitely not an every day kind of perfume! However tempting as it may be to dowse myself in it, I tend to try and use it sparingly- on nights out, or when going for nice drinks.

All in all, I would describe Black Orchid as an enchanting, sultry, and tempting fragrance of rich, dark forals and spice.

Tom Ford perfumes are epic! My favorite is the Velvet Orchid; it is my go-to Winter scent!
    Great review.
