Sunday Bliss

I’ve been rather MIA on the whole blog front recently and so it’s definitely time to change that! Life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes and it’s all too easy to lose tracks of the little things that matter. The last few months have been particularly busy for me what with the stress of interviews, an internship with a magazine and a new job, which I started last week! I’m sorry I neglected you little blog, but I’m here now.

Anyway, after a tiring first week at my new job, this weekend has just been about pure rest and relaxation. This is how I’ve spent my Sunday morning:

I baked some banana bread yesterday from Mary Berry’s recipe book which I’ve just indulged on whilst in bed with a coffee and my little cat Archie snoozing by my side. Bliss.

(Here’s a photo of some I made a while ago, as my latest loaf didn’t look too photogenic!)

Since I’m commuting into Birmingham everyday, I’ve noticed that my skin and hair are definitely in need of some pampering to get rid of the unwanted grime of trains and buses! I left a mask on my hair overnight to really penetrate deep into the hair, as it really has not been thanking me recently for the copious products and straightening that it’s had to endure. I used Orofluido’s ‘ASIA Zen Control Mask’, followed by Aveda’s ‘Damage Remedy’ leave-in treatment to really soften and condition it.

For my skin, after cleansing, I used Dermalogica’s skin prep scrub to brighten and smooth my skin and to exfloliate away any built-up surface debris. I don’t know about you, but when I get home from work  the first thing I want to do is take off my makeup after a long day and hours of travelling!

I also really hate how dirty my nails get when commuting so I’ve given them a good pampering sesh and a lick of paint in the gorgeous deep purple, autumnal shade of ‘Pomegranate/Prune’ by Crabtree & Evelyn, followed by some beautifully smelling L’Occintane lavender hand cream.

(Albeit slightly messy here!)

Quite the pampering session!

Have a relaxing Sunday everyone. X
